Assistant Principal
Joe Pierce is eager to join Brilla Paterson in the Summer of 2023 as the founding Assistant Principal. He joined the Brilla family in the Summer of 2022 as the Math, Data and Assessment and 2nd Grade Lead at Brilla Caritas in the Bronx. At Brilla Caritas, Mr. Pierce had the opportunity to learn and grow from great leaders, teachers and scholars. Prior to joining the Brilla family, he worked as an 8th grade Humanities teacher in Manhattan. He attained a Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in History with minors in Black Studies and Economics from Allegheny College. He also earned a Master of Arts in Teaching Social Studies and a Master of Education in Educational Leadership, both from Columbia University-Teachers College.
Illuminating student voices is a core tenet; Mr. Pierce believes it builds a thriving school community and he is excited to continue this work at Brilla Paterson. You can find Mr. Pierce cheering for the New York Yankees on a daily basis!
