In the fall of 2017, Brilla Veritas Elementary School opened its doors in the South Bronx community of Mott Haven to four kindergarten classes of 120 scholars. As of August 2023, Brilla Veritas Elementary serves grades K-4.

Brilla Public Charter Schools believe that a joyful culture, built upon positive relationships and strong character, is essential to productive student outcomes. With this ideal in mind, a social and emotional program rooted in character development is intentionally woven throughout the school day and week. Students celebrate accomplishments, share news, review and set goals, and learn about Brilla’s character virtues. Throughout the day, students have opportunities, from fine and applied arts classes to cross-curricular activities, to demonstrate these virtues and interact with peers in a positive and supportive environment.

Brilla Public Charter Schools use rigorous, evidence-based curricula and best practices from charter schools across the country that align to the Common Core Standards. Through a classical approach, scholars are exposed to a range of rich content and authentic texts, which fosters a strong, academic foundation. Brilla also utilizes a blended learning and co-teaching model, which allows for targeted, small-group instruction in the core content areas.

Brilla Veritas Elementary School is located at 600 E 156th St, Bronx, NY 10455
