Brilla College Prep Elementary School exists to serve the children and families of the South Bronx, School District 7, by providing an academically rigorous and virtue-centered education. We are committed to developing the minds and hearts of our students, equipping them with the knowledge, skills, and character necessary to succeed in college and beyond. Guided by our belief that all children deserve access to an excellent education, we answer the call to serve, time and time again, in communities where high-quality schooling options are most needed.
In the fall of 2013, Brilla College Prep Elementary School welcomed its first students in the South Bronx neighborhood of Mott Haven, starting with three Kindergarten and three 1st-grade classrooms. Committed to academic excellence and character development, the school expanded by one grade level each year, reaching its full capacity of 450 students from Kindergarten through 4th grade in 2016. The following year, in the fall of 2017, Brilla College Prep Middle School opened its doors, welcoming the inaugural class of 5th graders as they continued their educational journey.
Brilla Schools are open to all students, regardless of background or ability. Enrollment is free, and no entrance exams are required. Join us in our mission to provide an exceptional education for the next generation of leaders.
