Betzaida Lamourtte-Disla joined the Brilla team in August 2020 during the COVID-19 Pandemic. Ms.Lamourtte is a founding special education teacher at Brilla Caritas. She received a bachelor’s in bilingual education with a concentration in Spanish and French from Plattsburgh State University. She also has a master’s degree from CUNY City College in Early Childhood Education with a concentration in Special Education. She is currently pursuing a master’s in Applied Behavior Analysis at CUNY Hunter College. Ms. Lamourtte-Disla is an activist and enjoys working with different organizations in the Bronx and Harlem. When she’s not in the classroom, Ms.Lamourtte loves to read, travel, and spend time with her family and friends.
