Director of Instructional Development

Mary Catherine Lancaster is Director of Instructional Development for the Brilla Schools Network, developing teachers and leaders at the elementary and middle school levels. For five years, Mary Catherine worked at Brilla College Prep, serving first as a teacher and then as a teacher leader. Her roles included Special Education Teacher, Learning Specialist, New Teacher Development Lead, Grade and Content Lead, and School Literacy Lead. Prior to her work at Brilla College Prep, she worked in the Montgomery County Public School system, serving as an elementary school teacher. Originally from South Carolina, Mary Catherine earned her bachelor’s degree from Clemson University in early childhood education and spanish. While working at Brilla College Prep, she graduated from Columbia University Teacher’s College with a master’s degree as a reading specialist. She loves being outside with her husband, playing with her dog, and singing with her baby.
