Director of Instructional Development
Mary Catherine Lancaster is Director of Instructional Development for the Brilla Schools Network, developing teachers and leaders at the elementary and middle school levels. She joined the Brilla team in 2014 and has served many roles including classroom teacher, learning specialist, new teacher development lead, grade and content lead, and school literacy lead. Prior to her work at the Brilla Schools Network, she worked in the Montgomery County Public School system, serving as an elementary school teacher. Originally from South Carolina, Mary Catherine earned her bachelor’s degree from Clemson University in early childhood education and Spanish. While working at Brilla, she graduated from Columbia University Teacher’s College with a master’s degree as a reading specialist. She loves her family, good food, and new experiences!
