Instructional Specialist, Elementary Humanities

Tanicqua Pryor serves as the Instructional Specialist for Humanities for the Brilla Schools Network.  In her role, she works closely with the Brilla school-based teams to implement strong literacy education and training for both staff and students.  Prior to joining the Seton team, Tanicqua was a part of Brilla.  She served as the Founding Assistant Principal at Brilla Pax, later becoming the School Principal at Brilla Caritas.  Tanicqua was born and raised in the Bronx and is thrilled to serve in the same communities that poured into the woman she has grown to become.  Tanicqua was a Teach for America Corps Member, teaching first, second and third grade, eventually becoming a coordinator of Special Education at another charter school in New York City prior to joining Brilla in 2020. Tanicqua completed her Masters of Science at The College of New Rochelle and is currently finishing her Doctorate at Saint John Fisher University.  She credits her mother and her fifth-grade teacher Ms. Anna B. Matthews for instilling a passion for education and instilling that passion in others.  When not working, Tanicqua enjoys traveling, shopping, and spending time with loved ones, including her fur baby Red.

“I can endure all these things through the power of the one who gives me strength.”
