El Camino Program Leader, Caritas

Lena McGovern serves as a program leader for El Camino. In this role, she supports the Seton Teaching Fellows’ professional and instructional development, and works alongside the principal to ensure a strong partnership between the Brilla school and the El Camino program. Lena first came to the Bronx as a Seton Teaching Fellow in the 2018-2019 school year and served as a second year STF in 2019-2020. She then taught first grade for one year at Brilla Veritas Elementary, before becoming the site manager of El Camino in 2021. Since 2020, Lena has also been working to more deeply integrate character formation into El Camino as the Character Lead for El Camino. Lena holds a B.A. in Political Science from Stonehill College. She currently lives in Putnam County, NY with her husband and daughter (soon to be big sister), Marie-Elise.
